Content Policy
Our commitment to providing a clean, family-friendly streaming experience. This policy outlines the types of content we block and the mechanisms we use to enforce these standards.
1 Purpose
Movorastar is committed to providing a safe, family-friendly streaming environment for all users. This Content Policy establishes the standards and procedures by which we evaluate, filter, and block content that is not suitable for our platform.
Our goal is to ensure that every piece of content accessible through Movorastar meets a baseline standard of decency and appropriateness. We recognize that different users have different thresholds for what is acceptable, and we have chosen to err on the side of caution by implementing strict content guidelines.
This policy applies to all content indexed, displayed, or streamed through Movorastar, regardless of the source or embedding method.
2 Scope
This Content Policy covers all content accessible through Movorastar, including but not limited to:
- Movies and feature films
- Television shows and series
- Anime and animated content
- Search results and recommendations
- Surprise Me and Spotlight features
- Related content and "More from This Series" suggestions
The policy applies to all pages of the Movorastar website, including the home page, movies page, TV shows page, anime page, watch page, and all associated features.
3 Prohibited Content
The following categories of content are strictly prohibited on Movorastar and will be blocked at all levels of the platform:
- Adult / Pornographic Content Any content containing explicit sexual material, pornography, or sexually suggestive themes. This is determined by TMDB's
adultflag and supplemented by our internal review. - Explicit / Mature Content Shows and movies that contain graphic violence, explicit language, or mature themes that are not suitable for general audiences. This includes content rated TV-MA, NC-17, or equivalent.
- Blocklisted Titles Specific titles that have been manually reviewed and added to our blocklist. These may include otherwise popular shows that contain significant explicit content (e.g., Game of Thrones, Euphoria).
- Hate Speech and Discriminatory Content Content that promotes hatred, violence, or discrimination against individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or disability.
- Illegal Content Any content that violates applicable laws or regulations, including content that depicts illegal activities.
⚠ Important: This list is not exhaustive. Movorastar reserves the right to block any content that, in its sole discretion, is deemed inappropriate for the platform.
4 Content Rating Guidelines
Movorastar uses the following rating guidelines to determine whether content is acceptable for our platform:
- G / PG / PG-13 Generally acceptable. Content is suitable for most audiences.
- R Content may be restricted. We evaluate on a case-by-case basis. Some R-rated content may be blocked depending on the nature of the mature material.
- NC-17 / X Automatically blocked. Content is explicitly intended for adults only and is not permitted on Movorastar.
- TV-Y / TV-G / TV-PG Generally acceptable for television content.
- TV-14 Content may be allowed but is evaluated for explicit themes.
- TV-MA Content is intended for mature audiences and may be blocked depending on the nature of the material.
These guidelines are used in conjunction with TMDB's content flags and our internal blocklist to make final determinations.
5 Blocking Mechanism
Movorastar employs a three-layer content filtering system to ensure prohibited content is not accessible through our platform:
- Layer 1: TMDB Adult Flag All API requests to The Movie Database (TMDB) include the parameter
include_adult=false. This prevents adult-tagged content from appearing in search results, browse sections, and API responses at the source. - Layer 2: Client-Side Adult Filter All API responses are processed through a client-side filter that checks the
adultproperty on each item. Any content flagged as adult is removed from results arrays before rendering. - Layer 3: Manual Blocklist A curated blocklist of TMDB IDs for specific titles that have been manually reviewed and deemed inappropriate for Movorastar. This layer catches content that TMDB may not flag as adult but that contains significant explicit or mature material.
When blocked content is detected at any layer, the user is shown a notification explaining that the content is not available on Movorastar, with links to this policy and our other legal pages.
